Experiences of Turning to the Lord, Lidia Oh

Growing up meeting with the local church, many times I heard the brothers saying that we need to turn our heart to the Lord in every situation (2 Corinthians 3:16). These words became very familiar to me. However, I had never really appreciated these words until I came to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim last February, 2003. These words were the first words that really touched my heart and conscience in the Training. This matter is the most basic experience in our Christian life, yet I rarely applied this when I was growing up. The Lord has unveiled my heart and exposed me, showing who I am and what is my disposition. I realized that I am nothing without the Lord.

One of the classes for first year trainees, based on a book called Experience of Christ, has been a tremendous help to me. We learned how to turn to the Lord in practical ways and how to love the Lord in every situation. I learned that the highest law is the law of the spirit of life (Romans 8:2). This law is the spontaneous, automatic and regulating power of life, that has set me free from the law of sin and of death (Romans 7:24, 25). However, whether or not the divine life grows depends on the regulating of its law. Therefore, I need to give the proper environment to the law of divine life by loving the Lord and stopping my doing, trying and working. I learned that the most precious heart is a heart that loves the Lord very much yet stops everything else.

I know I am a complicated person. Even sometimes I don't know who I am or what I want. But I have realized the Lord doesn't want me to do anything for Him, He only wants me to be simple and love Him. This is so precious! Witness Lee's Christian books have dispensed much spiritual help to me. Reading his books has brought me into a deeper experience with the Lord in my daily life.
